Freeze creates Ding merchandising line

Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails offered on decals

NASHVILLE -- Freeze Artist Management has launched a new merchandising product dubbed Ding, a custom-fitted, device-specific decal featuring a wide range of bands.
The decals can be applied and removed to more than 100 products -- including cell phones, gaming systems and controllers, MP3 players and laptops -- and are available from artists such as Linkin Park, No Doubt, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Rise Against, H20, Blink 182, Underoath, Taking Back Sunday and many more.
Plans are to greatly expand the Ding artist roster and to make the product available on the road as tour merchandise. Summer promotions include meet-n-greets, onstage and backstage access and VIP treatment at concerts.
The price range for dings is $15.99-$39.99, and artists are paid a licensing royalty for each unit sold. In explaining the pricing, John Reese, CEO of Freeze Artist Management, said: "Some pieces are small, and some are large and intricate." He added that the product line could expand. "We are working on deals with various bands and labels to expand the synergies."
With Warped tour founder Kevin Lyman, Reese is the co-founder of the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour; the Rockstar Get a life tour and this summer's Rockstar Mayhem tour featuring Slipknot, Disturbed and 13 other acts. Reese is also co-producer of the Curiosa and Musink festivals.
Reese and John Oakes, president of Freeze Artist Management, announced the Ding product. Visit Dinglife.com for more.

Justin's Coq Stars in The Love Guru

Fans can expect to see a lot more of Justin Timberlake in his new movie 'The Love Guru'.

In his role as Jacques Le Coq Grande, this is Justin's second onscreen performance named after a particular part of his anatomy.

"When Mike Meyers saw my character 'Dick-in-a-Box' on Saturday Night Live, he decided to step it up a bit and gave me this awesome name," Justin said. "What guy wouldn't like to be called that?"

"It's always been a dream of mine to amass a c**k-centric filmography. I'm just happy I was able to meet the mark," Timberlake joked.

"It wasn't until I was well into shooting 'Love Guru' that I realised I am digging myself a nice big hole of penile humour!"

'The Love Guru' opens in Australian cinemas on July 10.

Madonna - Law Firm Denies Involvement In Madonnaritchie Split

LATEST: The London attorneys alleged to be representing MADONNA's director husband GUY RITCHIE in their rumoured divorce have denied having any involvement in the case.

The superstar couple has been plagued by rumours of a split for months, and reports heated up when it was claimed the pair had begun to seek legal advice from top lawyers.

Ritchie was reported to have hired Mayfair law firm Forsters, which specialises in 'high net worth' family law cases, to represent him.

But a spokesperson for the company has dismissed the reports, stating: "We are not acting for Guy Ritchie in this matter."

And Ann Northover, head of Forsters' family division, has reinforced the fact, adding, "I can only say I have no involvement at this moment."

Madonna is rumoured to have met with Fiona Shackleton, the attorney who represented Sir Paul MCCartney during his court battle with Heather Mills earlier this year (08).

Shackleton's employers, Payne Hicks Beach, is refusing to comment.

California man gets prison for burning Burning Man

RENO, Nev. - A San Francisco performance artist was sentenced Friday to as many as four years in prison and ordered to pay restitution for the early torching last summer of the signature effigy of the counterculture Burning Man festival.

Paul Addis pleaded guilty in May to one felony count of injury to property stemming from the burning of the 12-metre icon on Aug. 28 - four days earlier than planned. He was ordered to pay $30,000 in restitution.

Addis, 35, was taken into custody after a hearing this week in Pershing County District Court in Lovelock.

Burning Man organizers rebuilt the effigy in time for it to go up in flames in the ceremonial climax of the annual weekend festival in the northern Nevada desert.

In March, Addis pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts related to an alleged arson attempt at San Francisco's historic Grace Cathedral, according to the city prosecutor's office.

Addis was out on bail in the Burning Man case when police say he was found with an ammunition belt of small explosives outside the Episcopal church. He was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered back to Nevada to face the charges there.

Burning Man, an eclectic art, music and performance festival that draws more than 40,000 people, began in 1986 at San Francisco's Baker Beach and was moved to the Black Rock Desert in 1990.

Heath Ledger - Heath Ledger Could Win An Oscar

Heath Ledger could win a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of The Joker in Batman sequel THE DARK KNIGHT.

The Australian actor accidentally overdosed on prescription drugs on January 22nd at just 28 years of age.

However, his role in the superhero movie has attracted praise from critics, many of whom think it is worthy of an Academy Award.

Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers said: "I can only speak superlatives of Heath, who is mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker.

"It's typical of Heath's total commitment to films as diverse as Brokeback Mountain and I'm Not There that he does nothing out of vanity or the need to be liked.

"Heath's Joker has no grey areas - he's all rampaging id. He creates a Joker for the ages."

The last actor to win an Oscar after his death was Peter Finch for his role in 1975's NETWORK.

Ledger's menacing portrayal of The Joker has been likened to the shark in JAWS by DARK NIGHT director Christopher Nolan.

The Subways Get Glastonbury Moving

The Subways provided the perfect Friday morning hangover cure for the crowd at Glastonbury as the trio emphatically woke up the site.

The band returned to the venue they made their name – as winners of the Glastonbury’s Unsigned Bands competition in 2004.

Providing a set that mixed an even amount of tracks from debut ‘Young For Eternity’ and forthcoming record ‘All Or Nothing’, Billy Lunn was in high spirits – so high he was climbing every amp in site.

The dirty bass lines of ‘Shake Shake’, the impressive structure of ‘Girls and Boys’ and latest single ‘Alright’ were all notable highlights performed from the new album.

Lunn continually paused the set to tell the crowd to ‘go apeshit’, ‘fuckin mental’ and any other expression he could think of that would get the punters moving.

The climax of the set was ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Queen’ while ‘I want To Hear What You’ve Got To Say’ was the band’s “gift” to the festival goers.

Stay tuned to Gigwse for the latest from the site
