The Subways provided the perfect Friday morning hangover cure for the crowd at Glastonbury as the trio emphatically woke up the site.
The band returned to the venue they made their name – as winners of the Glastonbury’s Unsigned Bands competition in 2004.
Providing a set that mixed an even amount of tracks from debut ‘Young For Eternity’ and forthcoming record ‘All Or Nothing’, Billy Lunn was in high spirits – so high he was climbing every amp in site.
The dirty bass lines of ‘Shake Shake’, the impressive structure of ‘Girls and Boys’ and latest single ‘Alright’ were all notable highlights performed from the new album.
Lunn continually paused the set to tell the crowd to ‘go apeshit’, ‘fuckin mental’ and any other expression he could think of that would get the punters moving.
The climax of the set was ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Queen’ while ‘I want To Hear What You’ve Got To Say’ was the band’s “gift” to the festival goers.
